Place the XLR8 over the area of involvement (AOI). The clinician may choose to (#2) laser over the nerve root (located using the myotome/dermatome chart) or the organ involved (using the Merrick chart).
If they are oozing bed sores, the increase in circulation created by the laser may increase exudate. This is not harmful or over treating but the extra clean up may be a hassle so perform time that does not cause this to happen. And increase treatment time as the exudate decreases and the outer layer heals. If the wound is infected, of course, refer to the proper licensure, but you may perform additional time on other settings such as infection or immune enhancement.
